Cheap Baby Stuff
Cheap Baby Stuff
Next to the joy a new baby brings into each family, budget constraints can sometimes get to be a huge problem if you haven’t planned everything well in advance. To equip a baby with even the minimum it needs in terms of baby clothing, a baby, crib or any other baby furniture is a costly endeavor. Not to mention the sum that will go into baby´s car seat for safe driving or a quality stroller. Also, neither baby´s clothes nor diapers have been included in our train of thought yet…

You get the picture: the new expenses for your new born can sometimes break the bank but, fortunately, there are lots of handy ways to get cheap baby stuff very easily. In no particular order, here are some of them and, may I add, all well within your immediate reach.
Shop at Garage Sales
Head on to Craigslist or check the classifieds section in a local newspaper in order to find cheap baby stuff. Parents often sell their babies’ stuff once they’ve grown and have no siblings or other small ones in the extended family to pass it on to. They are usually not interested in making a profit, but rather de-cluttering their storage space or clearing up their garage. Especially other parents are the kind of folks who have been in the same spot and know what it takes to outfit a new born properly.
Host a Baby Stuff Swap
A lot of parents still have baby clothing, furniture, cribs or bedding that don’t fit their kids anymore and would be willing to trade it in for something they can use in turn. As it is with good traditions: If you can get a handful of such parents together, you might get stuff for your baby without coming even close to breaking the bank. Obtaining everything your baby needs this way can be a lot of fun while, at the same time, deepening your good neighborly relations. Keep in mind, though, that since you are going to be the host, it would be nice to bring in some drinks and snacks.

Shop at Clearance Racks
Did you know that most baby stores in the country organize clearance sales at the end of the season? It’s September now, a lot of stores will soon start to offer consistent discounts for spring clothing. This is where your have a chance to get yourself a great bargain: Monitor your local newspapers – or use the Internet – and check out all clearance sales in town and nearby. The best I’ve seen by far was a couple of 80% discounts with some major retailers – well worth your while, don’t you think?
Buy Used Baby Stuff
Insider tip: If you can find mildly used stuff – that is, in an almost as new condition – you may have hit the jackpot. Consignment shops or thrift stores may sell cribs, used linen or used clothing for half the original retail price, or even less, that sometimes barely have so much as a scratch. Look for dints on the furniture, or stains or tears on clothing and bedding. If you can’t find something that hurts the eye then, by all means, go for it and get yourself a great deal. You may want to visit such stores frequently, as they don’t keep lots of items in stock.
Shop Online
I think I should have started with this one. Items sold on the Internet are usually much cheaper than ones in brick and mortar shops as sellers don’t have to pay for show rooms, office space or sales personnel. On top of that check the big online auction platforms such as eBay and Amazon. Don´t forget the other retailers within your reach either. Lastly, stroll around our website and take your time: this site comes with information on some great sources where you can get some affordable baby stuff.
Last, but not least, don’t fall for all the marketing hype you see on TV or read about in the news papers. A lot of companies pay good money for advertising (having a yearly budget that goes in the millions), but all their promotion costs end up on your bill. Granted, they are top notch products, but you can get the exact same quality for a fraction of the price. Keep browsing this site and you can be sure you will find lots of ways you can get cheap baby stuff.
